Gyenesdiás is not only a family friendly but it is a remarkably active holiday resort, where are guests can choose different entertaining programs for every single day of their stay. Not alone in the summer time! Ask for our weekly program offer at the Tourinform Office!
Gyenesdiás offers beside sunbathing and swimming a range of sports facilities and active entertainment programs.
The Fishermen’s Association awaits the anglers in the boat harbour with boats available for rent.
The Keszthely-hills is an outstanding place for organising hikes for those who enjoy being close to nature. Woods, fields, rare plants and rest areas make the surroundings attractive. On the Big Meadow (called “Nagymező” in Hungarian), which is one of the most popular areas among hikers in the region situated on the grounds of the settlement, the 3-storey Festetics Look-Out Tower and the Berzsenyi Look-out Tower, as well as the gymnastics field situated in the forest await their guests. The most beautiful routes start from here. We recommend the guests to visit the former quarry as well as the so-called Vadlánlik. Ask for our detailed tourist map at Tourinform Gyenesdiás. In Nature’s House visitor centre you can learn more about the plants and wildlife of Keszthely Hills.
The shooting range near the Big Meadow has often given home to international competitions. Those who are interested can try the guns on the open days organised by the operators and shoot at the disks or the wildlife.
You can make nice bicycle trips or explore the region on the bicycle roads – of which we recommend especially the one going around the Lake Balaton – or the forest paths or experience a real challenge by cycling up the Keszthely-hills.
The High ropes course adventure park located near to the Gyenes Beach awaits everyone seeking fun and adventure.
Both children and adults can learn the secrets of pottery making, and you can try out the potter’s wheel at the Pottery House (called “Kerámiaház” in Hungarian).
We invite the families to the small Animal farm in the József Attila street, where they can feed native Hungarian animals every Thursday.
You can even organise a squash, bowling or billiard competition on a cloudy day. Minigolf is also recommended for the whole family.
Visit the local smithy on Wednesdays (10 am-12 am), where you will have a great time and if you feel like you can try this old handicraft.
Come to the Crafty workshop in the Herdsman’s house and be creative! Here you can make your own sabretache from leather or a nice wire jewellery every Tuesday from 9 am.
Our constantly available programme offer is extended with our traditional events with gastronomic, sport, and cultural programmes.
There’s so much to do here, so you and your family will never get bored.
